Company History

The company was founded in 2002 in order to serve the scalable and high performance computing markets in engineering and scientific computing, including life sciences, chemistry and physics. The company is profitable and growing rapidly. The founder of Scalable Informatics, Dr. Joseph Landman, has been working in HPC in one way or another since 1988; as a student performing research, at Silicon Graphics and other companies, and now at Scalable. Dr. Landman has been part-time faculty in the computer science department at his alma mater, teaching a course on high performance computing. Scalable Informatics is focused upon helping our customers achieve the best performance for their computationally and IO-intensive workloads. Our products, support and service offerings reflect this focus.

What We Do

Scalable Informatics is involved in multiple areas on behalf of our markets and our customers, including the following ways:

• We design, sell, build and support new and existing high performance computing environments such as computational clusters, high performance storage systems, and workstations, as well as offering software porting, optimization, parallelization, and support services.
• We re-engineer and optimize existing environments for customers with existing systems.
• We provide support to our customers for their systems, regardless of vendor.
• We design and build accelerated hardware and software computing solutions.
• We design and build benchmark test systems for our own benchmarking as well as performing custom system and platform performance characterization for our customers.
• We compose reports and white papers on performance measurements using open source tools of our own design, which are widely distributed and referenced by our partners and competitors.

Our high performance, application-centric computing web portal software, DragonFly, is being deployed globally by a fortune 500 company to enable their staff to more effectively utilize their distributed HPC resources. While our abilities and successes are wide-ranging, a primary focus of Scalable Informatics is on the design and construction of computing and storage solutions that facilitate our mission by accelerating our customers' performance.
