Definition

A GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) accelerator is a massively parallel processor used to accelerate compute-intensive workloads beyond what CPUs can efficiently handle. Modern GPU accelerators like NVIDIA H100/H200, AMD MI300X, and Intel Gaudi contain thousands of cores optimized for matrix operations, making them essential for AI/ML training, scientific simulation, molecular dynamics, and computational fluid dynamics.
