InfiniBand

Definition

InfiniBand is a high-bandwidth, low-latency networking technology used primarily in high-performance computing and data centers. It provides native RDMA support and data rates from 10 Gb/s (SDR) up to 400 Gb/s (NDR) per port, with sub-microsecond latency. InfiniBand is the dominant interconnect in TOP500 supercomputers and large-scale AI training clusters. NVIDIA (via Mellanox acquisition) is the primary vendor.
