Definition
QLC NAND (Quad-Level Cell) stores four bits per cell, offering the highest density and lowest cost per gigabyte among flash technologies. The progression from SLC (1 bit) through MLC (2 bits), TLC (3 bits) to QLC enables increasingly affordable flash storage. QLC drives are ideal for read-intensive and capacity-oriented workloads like data lakes, content delivery, and warm storage tiers, though they have lower write endurance than TLC.
